Porch Conversions & Vinyl Glazing:

Q. Why should I consider vinyl glazed windows instead of glass?
A. New Look Services offers both vinyl glazed as well as glass windows & doors. The high-tech PVC vinyl is tough, light in weight and safer than glass & can be easily replaced. The featured vertical 4-track window has 4 panels that glide in separate tracks and can be stopped in any position. For openings that are greater in width than in height, the vinyl glazed horizontal side slider window is ideal. Two panels slide from side to side, and like the vertical 4-track windows, are fully covered with screen. There are certain advantages of vinyl glazed windows over glass that may fit your needs better for your porch & your budget. It’s our most popular window!

Q. What types of doors are offered in porch conversions?
A. The Cabana door is most widely used and available in standard 30”, 32” or 36” widths or custom sized. A wide selection of door styles are available including a vertical 4-track window insert to match the porch windows. Any style comes with a threshold & keyed lock. It can also be made to accommodate a pet door for easy pet access.

Side slider panels are another option – they are also vinyl glazed & used in place of sliding glass doors but custom sized to fit openings of 5’ to 12’ or more. A screen panel allows for ventilation & insect control and all panels can be easily removed for wide furniture access.

A Glass French Door can add that extra stylish touch. With or without window pane grids, the doors can swing in or out & has a keyed lock and dead bolt.

Q. What about enclosing the small irregular areas on my porch?
A. Stationary panels called “vinyl lip frame inserts” or single pane glass windows are
custom made for gable roof porches where trapezoids are needed. Rectangular transoms can also be put over doors or over and under windows. Design and create your own custom look!

Q. Will the vinyl fade or crack in time?
A. There is a 10 year warranty against any fading or cracking. On the market for over
25 years, the vinyl glazing has a remarkable quality of having a “memory”. Aggressively punched or stretched, it returns to its original shape. If cut, the vinyl can be easily resplined without replacing the window.

Q. What colors are available for the vinyl glazed windows & doors?
A. Window and door frames are available in white, almond & bronze. Screens come
in grey or charcoal. The vinyl glazing is clear or can be tinted dark grey or bronze for privacy or to cut down on sun glare. Some people choose to have one or several panels tinted leaving the others clear. Mix and match with no extra cost.

Q. How long does it take to place an order & to enclose an average porch?

two weeks with several days allowed for shipment. Installation can usually be done in one day.

Q. Can I change & restructure my porch?
A. Absolutely! Many people have their existing railing removed to maximize window height for increased screen air flow. New Look Services can frame to
change window & door openings to your design preferences. All windows & doors are custom made to 1/16 of an inch.

Q. Can the vertical 4-track windows be used in places other than a porch?

A. Converting a carport into a useable room can be easily done by framing windows
and door openings. Other options are under a deck, an open front porch, breezeway or any place that can be framed.

Q. What about heating & cooling my porch?
A. A glass enclosed porch can be made to be an all-season room. The vinyl glazed
4-track system is not an energy efficient room, however, it can be comfortably heated during the cold weather for occasional use or entertaining.
